Basically a rebranded Casio A10, the C-120++ is an early entry into the handheld PC market running the then new Windows CE operating system. We found this at a local HamFest for a mere five bucks and it worked perfectly. All it needed was a new set of batteries. That was the first thing that I liked about this handheld - the main bateries are two standard AA batteries instead of some off the wall custom built pack. With only twenty hours of battery life claimed, I would recommend using NiMH cells. As for the backup battery, again an off the shelf CR2032 cell.

Another nice feature is the PCMCIA card slot which accepts any standard PC card. A modem is the first thing that comesto mind. That gives this little computer a connection to the outside world whereby you can easily check your email or surf that new-fangled World Wide Web.

While we're on the subject of communications, two methods are provided to allow for connection to your main desktop PC. First of all, you can use the supplied data cable to connect to your serial port. Or, you go wireless using the built-in infrared (IR) port.
