Lego Mindstorms Robotic Invention System 2.0 An advanced version of the old familiar Lego building block system that we all grew up with. This system - a forerunner to the newer NXT Mindstorms system - allows you to build your own computer controlled robots. Your projects are built around a central unit called the RCX (Robotic Command System) brick. This houses all of the electronics and I/O connections needed to design your own robot creation. Programs are written on a Windows computer and then uploaded to the RCX unit via a serial port connected IR transmitting "tower". The included programming software is a visual language based on National Instruments LabVIEW software. In addition to designing your own creations, there are plenty of plans and ideas available on the internet for free.
